The Viton (Ni-Resist)Silicon Carbide/Silicon Carbide seal is for SERVERE DUTY.This seal performs well in oils, acids and chemical applications. The silicon carbide rotating ring in the head of this seal is significantly harder than the carbide ring found in the carbide/silicon carbide and ceramic seals. This hard ring riding against a silicon carbide seat offers greater protection for thermal conductivity and lower coefficient of friction, resulting in the coolest running seal available. The carbide against carbide offers the hardest materials for the mild to servere abrasive applications. While viton performs well with most chemicals, it does not perform in steam applications.
