Food Grade 2" Pumps
Food Grade 2" Pumps are high-capacity sanitary pumps engineered for the efficient and hygienic transfer of large volumes of edible liquids, viscous products, and shear-sensitive ingredients in food, beverage, dairy, and pharmaceutical processing. Characterized by 2-inch sanitary connections (typically Tri-Clamp or bevel seat) and constructed from FDA-compliant and 3-A Dairy Standard approved materials—primarily 316L stainless steel with electropolished internals or certified plastics—these pumps are designed to meet the strictest hygienic requirements. Their design features fully drainable, crevice-free flow paths, clean-in-place (CIP) and sterilize-in-place (SIP) compatibility, and non-contaminating seals, ensuring absolute product purity and preventing bacterial harborage.
These pumps are essential for main process and transfer lines, handling duties such as moving large batches of juices, concentrates, sauces, creams, and doughs between tanks, through heat exchangers, and to high-speed fillers. Common pump types in this category include large sanitary centrifugal pumps, positive displacement rotary lobe pumps (for high-viscosity products), and hygienic air-operated diaphragm pumps. The 2" size delivers the high flow rates required for production-scale throughput while maintaining the gentle handling and easy cleanability critical for product integrity, making these pumps a foundational component for high-volume, compliant, and efficient sanitary processing.
