About centrifugal pump casing
Centrifugal pump casing is where the fluid pumped by the impeller goes. The curved funnel of the case captures the velocity of the pumped fluid and creates pressure.
The centrifugal pump casing also seals off the interior of the pump from the outside atmosphere to prevent leaks and maintain pressure. The case surrounds the pump rotor in centrifugal pumps, which is the component transmitting energy to the fluid (via the impeller, which is mounted on the rotor shaft).
Where the shaft passes through the casing, a shaft seal protects against excessive leakage (out of the casing) and air intake (from outside into the casing). We also sell replacement centrifugal pump seal kits.
